A tag has been placed on HIV Protease Inhibitors: Drug Discovery and Development requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. October 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 16:26, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox[edit]

I've copied the current content of HIV Protease Inhibitors: Drug Discovery and Development to the version in your user sandbox: User:Hopur32009/HIV Protease Inhibitors: Drug Discovery and Development, as the mainspace article will probably get deleted soon. Thanks, MuffledThud (talk) 18:52, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

cross purposes[edit]

While Muffled was doing that, I was in the process of moving the article to HIV Protease Inhibitors drug discovery and development -- we don't use capitals except within names. As it turns out, it is now in both places. You are fully entitled to do it in main space--but as you notice some of the other admins here tend to be very quick on the trigger However, to avoid confusion, I am going to remove the outline in main space as a duplicate.

Let me give you some general advice, as one of the experienced biomed oriented editors here (you can check my user page to see whom I am). This is a general encyclopedia, not a scholarly one. The one is expected to be impersonal, descriptive, and not promotional. This article will have to be differentiated from articles on drug discovery in general. The question might be asked, how is this anything special for HIV besides drug development in general except for what the drugs are and the different targets? For discussions of individual drugs, it is better to have articles on the individual drugs--most of the relevant ones should be in Wikipedia already . In practice, a drug is ready for an article as soon as there are two published papers about it, even if they describe just the chemistry,& refer to conference papers for possible therapeutic use. As for writing for Wikipedia in general, please see our guide to writing Wikipedia articles and chapter 6 of the free online version of How Wikipedia Works by Phoebe Ayers, Charles Matthews, and Ben Yates (also available in print) . If you have anywquestions ask me for help on my talk page--not here, because I am unlikely to see it. DGG ( talk ) 20:38, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
